After quite a long silence ever since the creation of the Netflix, the biggest streaming service in the world, Therapy and The Fisherman’s diary have been the first homemade movies to be diffused on this platform. This came as a breakthrough for the Cameroonian movie industry as two of its most trending movies were taken by Netflix streaming services.
The Fisherman’s Diary
The Fisherman’s Diary is a 2020 Cameroonian multi award Drama, filmed and directed by ENAH Johnscott and produced by Kang Quintus. Staring international actors like Ramsey Noah. Furthermore, It is no doubt that this movie deserves its place at Netflix. Given as it has won almost every award that comes it ways, including numerous nominations. Within some of these awards/nominations, we can site the Prestigious Oscars Awards (93rd Edition, making it the 4th Cameroonian movie to get to the Oscars), the Golden Movie Awards and African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) Nigeria. In addition, the Prestigious Ecrans Noirs festival, where Kang Quintus and his team won over five awards. In the following categories;

Therapy
Which is going to be premiered on Netflix on the 26 of March 2021. Also, this movie is produced by Ermelinde Simo and Sakah Antoine. Staring international actors such as Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD) and Iretiola Doyle of the Nollywood industry.
Furthermore, this is a prove that the Cameroonian Movie Industry is writing its name on the map. especially after this revelation, and a prove that we can stand to compete with the Nollywood industry, who have been topping the African movie industry.
